밴드가 최초로 결성된 건 1997년, 그들이 석세스의 배틀이라는

조그만 마을에서 고등학교에 다니던 시절이었다.

몇 년 동안의 실험을 거쳐 자신들의 사운드를 만들어 가던 킨은

2002년 긴 동면을 마치고 세상 밖으로 나왔다.

 

2003년에 내놓은 싱글 'This Is The Last Time'이 라디오 전파를 강타하기

전까지 킨은 런던 언더그라운드 신에서 오랜기간 무명으로 활동해 왔다.

 

2002년 첫 싱글 ‘Everybody’s Changing’으로 주목받기 시작한 이후 

‘This is The Last Time’ ‘Somewhere only We Know’ 등을 연속 히트시킨 뒤,

2004년 데뷔앨범 [Hopes And Fears]로 영국 최고 권위 시상식인

‘브릿 어워즈’에서 영국 최고의 앨범과 최고의 신인 등 2개 부문을

수상하며 평단과 대중의 지지를 고루 얻어낸다.
