에릭클랩튼과 비틀즈의 조지 해리슨은 절친한 친구 사이다.   조지 해리슨의 부인이었던 패티 보이드가 에릭과 가까워지면서 조지는 1977년 이혼을 하게 된다.  그리고 1979년 에릭은 패티와 결혼을 하게된다. 놀라운 것은 에릭과 패티의 결혼식에 조지는 새 부인과 함께 둘의 결혼식에 참석했다는 사실이다. 에릭 클랩튼은 흠모하는 패티를 위해서 세 곡을 만들었는데 그 중 한곡이  그 유명한 이 Wonderful Tonight 이다...    Wonderful tonight
