1990년 결성된 테이크 댓 시절...여느 그룹이 그렇듯 다섯 명의 멤버는

각기 이미지를 갖고 있었는데,특히 발라드 작곡에 재능이 있던 게리 발로는

실질적인 리더이자 그룹에 있어서 보석 같은 존재로 테이크 댓을

가볍게 여기지 않게끔 하는 실력을 갖고 있었고, 미소년인 마크 오웬은

공손한 이미지와 살인 미소로 게리 발로 못지 않은 인기를 누리고 있었다.  

 

미성인 목소리 또한 테이크 댓의 보컬 파트를 빛나게 해줬고,

댄스를 담당하는 건장한 체격의 두 청년, 하워드 도널드와 제이슨

오렌지는 건강한 정신의 소유자로 비춰졌다.  

반면 막내인 로비 윌리엄스는 테이크 댓의 나머지 멤버들과는 확연한 ‘악동’,

‘뉴스메이커’ 이미지가 두드러졌으며 테이크 댓의 팬들로부터는 ‘세계에서

가장 재미있는 사람’이라는 별명을 얻기도 했다.

 

 

[Take That & Party](’91), [Everything Changes]('93), [Nobody Else]('95).

이렇게 세 장의 정규 앨범을 발표한 테이크 댓은 그러나 불안한 조짐을 보이기

시작했는데 돌출 행동으로 유난히 눈에 띄던 로비 윌리엄스가 팀을 떠난 것이었다.

바로 1995년 로비 윌리엄스의 스물 두 번째 생일에 말이다.

결국 테이크 댓도 1996년에 팀을 해체하기에 이르는데 게리 발로는

로비 윌리엄스의 탈퇴가 해체 원인의 50퍼센트 정도 된다고 밝혔다.

'로비 윌리암스(Robbie Williams)'는 말 그대로 'Take That 의 미운오리' 였다는..

하지만 로비는 분명 '영국의 국민가수'라는 말이 어색하지 않다,

이유는 말그대로 영국을 대표하는 가수니까.. 로비.. 정말 음악적 재능만은 타고났다. 

'Take That' 시절에 많이 묻혀있던데.. 세칸드 보컬 겸 댄서로서 솔로로 성공........
