1936년 6월 텍사스주 브론스 마을에서 태어난 크리스 크리스토퍼슨은
영향력있는 작곡활동을 통해 컨트리 음악의 호소력을 강화시켰고
새 세대 컨트리 작곡가들을 위한 길을 열어 주었다.
그는 1969년 6월 앨범 으로 데뷔했고 1976년에는 영화"스타탄생"에서 바브라 스트라이샌드의 상대역으로 출연해 골든 글로브 남우 주연상을 수상하기도 하였다. 1960년대 후반에 등장하여 작곡가,싱어,연기자로서의 능력을 발휘했던 그는 성공적인 사례로서 후배들이게 인식되고 있으며 현재 많은 후배들이 팝월드에서 활약하고 있다
