영국의 EMI/Virgin이 스파이스 걸스의 성공으로 재미를 톡톡히 보자

이번엔 3인조 그룹 Atomic Kitten을 적극적으로 밀고있다.

아토믹 키튼은 Kerry Katona, Liz McLarnon, Natasha Hamilton이란

 각기 다른 개성을 지닌 세 명의 귀여운 아가씨들로 구성되었는데

 이들은 비틀즈의 고향으로 유명한 리버풀 출신.

아토믹 키튼은 원래 캐리와 리즈 두 사람이 1998년 시작한 듀오였는데

 나중에 나타샤가 가세해 트리오가 되었다.

영국의 유명한 매니저 휴 골드스미스에 의해 발굴된

아토믹 키튼은 1999년 11월 싱글 'Right Now'로 데뷔한다.

이 곡은 영국 싱글 차트 10위까지 오르는 성공을 거두었고,

두 번째 싱글 'See Ya'는 6위에 올라 첫 싱글보다 더 좋은 반응을 얻는다.

현재 아토믹 키튼은 Asolute, Engine 등이 프로듀스한

 데뷔 앨범 [Right Now] (2000)을 발표한 후

아시아 등지를 순회하며 홍보활동을 벌이고 있다.

이들은 지난 4월 일본에서 쵸콜렛 광고 모델로도 데뷔 했다고 하는데,

얼마 전인 2000년 8월 한국을 방문해 그들만의 독특한 개성으로

많은 사람들에게 뚜렷한 인상을 남기기도 했다

 

'The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)'는

그 유명한 Blondie의 1980년도 레게 히트 넘버를 리메이크한 곡이다.

이곡을 더욱 부드럽게 재해석하고, 깔끔하고 현대적으로 되살렸다
