Hate 외 / Cat Power

 

 

 

목소리에서 슬픔과 고독이 묻어 나오는 가수들이 여럿 있기는 하지만

Cat Power의 Chan Marchall만큼 그 느낌이 온전히 그녀의 것이라고

느껴지는 경우는 그리 흔하지 않다는 생각이다.  

 

그것은 그녀의 삶을 관통해온 고독 그리고 그 고독을 인내해야 했던

그녀의 과거에서 스며나오는 슬픔이 그녀의 존재를 통해서

아니 목소리를 통해서 울려나오기 때문일 듯 하다.  

 

그녀의 비교적 근작인 2006년 발매된 이 음반에서는 이전 음반보다는 확실히

밝아진 그녀지만 여전히 여린 듯하고 깨지기 쉬운 그녀의 감성은 그대로 남아 있다.
